CAO Behavioral Health's counselors specialize in a range of topics, from relationship and substance abuse counseling to therapy for anxiety and depression. By engaging in evidence-based practices and providing a safe and supportive environment, we are committed to helping you reach your goals.
Population Served

Between the ages of twelve (12) to eighteen (18) with histories of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, neglect issues and/or other mental health disorder. Youth are anticipated to be Caucasian and African-American primarily with a small representation of Hispanic youth.

Between the ages of 18 and above with histories of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, neglect issues and/or other mental health disorder.
Availability of Services
All services described are available to age appropriate youth and adults. Most services would be delivered from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday, except in the case of a scheduling conflict or a crisis. CAO of Scioto County maintains after hours on-call coverage seven days a week, with staff available to respond to active customers experiencing a crisis and/or other issue requiring immediate attention. Evening hours and interpretation services can be scheduled as needed.
No Charge Service
Currently, CAO of Scioto County provides counseling and therapy services at no charge. Prior to the end of the 2017 calendar year, CAO of Scioto County will establish a fee schedule and complete the steps required in order to accept payments from private and public insurers.
Case Management
Case Management services would be based upon identified impairment of functioning, in conjunction with individual counseling sessions. Case management services would be based on needs of the client and assistance of removing external barrier, i.e.; housing needs and basic life skills while offering linkage and advocacy to community resources. Case Management would assist client with reaching goals and objectives as outlined on Individual Treatment Plan. Staff: Counseling and therapy services will be provided by staff qualified in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code 5122-29-03. Staff providing counseling and therapy services and not independently licensed (PCC or LISW) will receive formal supervision on at least a bi-weekly basis and informed supervision on an as needed basis. The supervisor to supervisee ratio will be maintained at a 1:7 ratio.
Referrals
Referrals for counseling services are accepted from local school districts, family members, court systems and other area service providers on an on-going basis.
